Student Visit to Bunnings Lake Haven

By | News | No Comments

On Wednesday, August 30, Mrs Farrugia’s class, who have been studying money this term, was able to have a community access visit to Bunnings at Lake Haven.

The students were met by Ann Marie, who provided aprons, fabric pens, and paints to enable the students to design their own aprons to keep.  Everyone was feeling very creative and drew some lovely artwork.

They also had the opportunity to visit the cafe and buy some treats.  We had a look around the store and then returned to school.

We want to thank Bunnings for being very welcoming and inviting us to return next term. Everyone had a lovely time, and we look forward to visiting again soon.

A big Thank you goes out to everyone who organised the afternoon.  It was a huge success with funds raised going to Year 12 end of year events.

Recently, Isaiah R of Year 10, competed in the Multisport National Championships held in Townsville.

From his results during this event, Isaiah has successfully made it to the Australian team 2024 for the Duathlon Sprint in his age group.

This is another great result from Isaiah, in a sport he is proving to be amazing at and is very passionate about.

We are certain we will be hearing of many more achievements from Isaiah before the National Championship in 2024.

Well done, Isaiah.

We recently held another great Combined Family Mass with St Brigid’s and St Brendan’s coming together to celebrate.

The senior leaders from both schools were fantastic in their support and the running of Youth Ministry. There were games and snacks followed by Mass.

We would like to thank all the families who attended to celebrate with us. Your support is truly appreciated.

Rugby Union & AFL

Our intermediate girls Rugby Union and AFL teams have had the opportunity during their Inflame time to learn the rules, skills and put in to play what they have learned for the upcoming Broken Bay gala days.

This will be St Brigid’s first time entering a girls team in both sports. As a team the girls are really looking forward to these events.  Thank you to Mr Philpot and Mr Haslem for coaching the girls and making the training fun and knowledgeable.  It’s a real enjoyment watching the girls get in and have a good go at these training sessions, the time they have during Inflamed is proving to be a great use of time and more one on one training.

Thank you to Mrs Carantinos for supporting the training sessions during Inflamed time and making this possible for our students.

The girls are all looking forward to next week’s training.  Good luck at the upcoming gala days girls!
