This week our Inflame bushwalking group went on a 5km walk at Wybung part of Munmorah State Conservation area.
The students had a great time trekking through the bush and enjoying nature along the way.
Recently we wished Clayton B of Year 9 all the best for the upcoming Australian Hockey Championships in Perth. Clayton has since returned, and we would like to share with the community the following information.
Clayton participated in the 2023 Kurt De Fris U15 Ice Hockey Australia National Championship, representing NSW. After playing numerous games against the other states, they were successful in winning the tournament, defeating Western Australia in the Grand Final. The NSW team were awarded a Gold Medal and were presented the Kurt De Fris Trophy.
Congratulations Clayton on winning the U15 Australian National Championship.
What a day our Under 13 boys Rugby League team had on Wednesday at Catholic Schools Broken Bay gala day held at Morry Breen Oval, Kanwal.
The boys played as a team, won every game and were undefeated all day!
The sportsmanship demonstrated from these boys and the respect they have for one another was great to see, this was evident in the days results. We could not be prouder of each and every one of them. Between the rain and the sun, the boys played strong and had a great mindset each game. The teams the boys went up against made us play hard for the wins and, at times, kept holding them off the try line.
Thank you to Mr Philpot once again for taking the team, training the boys, leading them to victory and to all the parents and grandparents who were there to show their support, we very much appreciate you spending the day with us all and being able to share this amazing achievement.
Well done boys on the title of 2023 Broken Bay Junior Boys Rugby League Champions.
Schools Broken Bay gala day held at Breakers stadium.
It was a great day watching with both teams giving their all each and every game. For our junior girls, it was their very first basketball completion and they did their best.
Congratulations to our intermediate girls on making the grand final game against Mount Saint Benedict. It was a very close game right down to the buzzer with 2 points difference and our girls coming away with second place.
The support on the sideline said it was a real nail bitter.
To our intermediate girls we are so proud of you all and the games you played to make it to finals.
We think you are all amazing.
Last week 3 of our Year 8 Students participated in the under 14 Girls Rugby League gala day for Catholic Schools Broken Bay.
A combined team was entered between St Brigid’s and St Peter’s. Over all the girls played really well and were the overall winners and undefeated.
Alexah, Milan and Amelia really did us proud both on and off the field and it was a pleasure to hear such great feedback from the coach at St Peter’s.
Alexah converted every try but one on the day bringing the team together after each try. Due to the team being combined the girls were unable to take out the title and have been awarded a certificate of recognition for outstanding performance and teamwork.
Well done girls on promoting a sport you all love to play.
Last week saw us hold yet another great college carnival at Mingara Recreation Club. Athletics is our biggest college carnival with all students moving around the venue at one time. It was lovely to see our students getting in having a go and supporting their peers.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the day from Students, Staff, Parents and even grandparents and thank you to the parents who assisted at the completion of the carnival. It’s nice so to see us all coming together as a community.
Congratulations to Lakes House on bring home Athletic Champions for 2023, well done Lakes.
On Wednesday the 26th of July our under 16 girls participated in for the first time the Isabelle Kelly Cup (Katrina Fanning) Female Rugby League. What a great day it was for all involved. Our girls had the opportunity to be a part of a tackle clinic run by the NRL Development staff prior to games kicking off.
The girls did really well winning 2 of their 3 games and just missing out on the semi-finals rounds due to count back. To say we were all disappointed would be an understatement. Watching the girls play as a team on the day was the best win we could ask for and it was lovely to be part of the day. The talent from our girls was strong and they held their own each and every game.
Thanks to Mr Philpot for his help training and coaching the girls leading up to the day. We look forward to the next gala day and can’t wait to see what happens next year.
Last week our netball teams headed down to Pennant Hills for the annual Catholic Schools of Broken Bay gala day. We had a Year 7, Year 8, Year 9/10 and Year 11/12 team participating on the day. Our year 8 team were successful on making it to semi-finals this year.
Well done to all the girls on the day for their dedication and sportsmanship.
Thank you to Zali Mc of Year 9 for being our C badge umpire and refereeing all our Year 7 team games on the day. A big shout out to our staff who accompanied the teams and trained the girls leading up to the gala day. Thanks Mr Barnett, Ms Hill, Miss Ardern and Mrs Cannon.
