U13 Rugby League Central Coast Cup

By | News, Sport | No Comments

Our U13 Rugby League team recently played in the NRL Central Coast Cup at Erina, after wet weather put a spanner in the works the week before.  They were energetic and showed good team cohesion throughout the day!

The highlights of the day included a win against Narara Valley High and an extremely close game against Mackillop.  Thank you to Mr Devlin for organising and training the team and to Mr McFarlane, Ms Bailey and Peter from St Brendan’s for coaching and supporting on the day.

Broken Bay Open Basketball

On Monday our Open Basketball teams represented the college at Terrigal, it’s always nice to have games close to home and not travel.  Both teams played really well on the day, at times there were high fives going around and lots of smiles and laughter, it’s safe to say they all had a good day.  Thank you to Mrs Ison and Mr Martindale for coaching these teams.  Our students played throughout the day with great sportsmanship and did us all proud on the courts.

Thank you to Mr Lynch for co convening this event for St Brigid’s.  It’s great to have his support behind basketball and he too got the opportunity to see parts of the games our students played.

The Under 15 Rugby League team competed in the Central Coast Premiership Cup held at Erina on 10 May 2023.  It was the first time entering in the U15’s age group with students in Year 8 and 9.  The boys played very well on the day with the small team we had and got a chance to play against some of our local high schools here on the Central Coast.

Open Soccer

Our open soccer teams made their way to Cromer Park, Manly on 4 May 2023 and took to the fields for the open boys and girls soccer.  Both our teams had a great day out, the weather was perfect.  Thank you to Mr Gallen and Mr Barnett for taking the teams, their encouragement and support helped make this day a good one for all.

Open soccer is a selection day for the Broken Bay team, we had 4 students selected to trial for the Broken Bay team.  Liam M, Finn T, Kyan C of Year 11 and Liam W of Year 10.  Well done boys, this is the most we have had trial for selection.  The boys were not named in the team this year, but we are still really proud of the achievements to make selection.  Congratulations.
