At St Brigid’s, we’re committed to preparing our students for the future world of work from an early stage. Our Pathways and Partnerships program connects classroom learning with real-world examples, giving students the skills they need to navigate their future careers.
Recently, our Year 7 students had an exciting incursion with an urban planner who shared insights into his profession and the elements that make areas liveable. The students were then challenged to make St Brigid’s more liveable by deciding the best location for a new water fountain.
This hands-on Geography project allowed students to apply their classroom skills in a practical setting, fostering creativity, communication, and collaboration. It was rewarding to see them work together, overcome challenges, and take pride in their contributions to the school environment.
One student shared, “It was really fun to work on the project because we got to put our skills into practice. Now, when I walk to class, I can say, ‘I helped make that happen!'”
Our goal is to create opportunities for students to link their learning with real-world examples, developing essential skills like critical thinking, creativity, and resilience. We’re proud of our students for their hard work and can’t wait to see what they achieve next!
We are excited to offer you a unique opportunity to make a difference in our students’ lives. Share your work knowledge, skills, and experience by volunteering your time. Your involvement can inspire and educate the next generation.
