The Outdoor Classroom has expanded to include a Peer Buddy Support element.
Year 10 were involved in preliminary training during Term 1 and have taken the next step to supporting a younger student in the college.
The Outdoor Classroom is a unique program, where selected students learn a variety of competencies that support their learning, using outdoor adventure-based activities. The core focus, as identified by the students, is summed-up in three words: ‘Teamwork, Support, Respect’.
Their peer buddies will certainly provide an ongoing network which will continue to foster these helpful learning traits.
These photos were taken at Tree Tops Adventure Park in the Ourimbah State Forest on the first day the students met each other. This day was designed to build trust and a positive relationship for the future.
Thank you to Mr Nield and Mr Eid for their involvement in the Outdoor Education program.
