We are thrilled to share the fantastic achievements of our 13’s Girls Touch Football team, who competed at Doyalson in the Broken Bay Catholic Schools Competition last week. The girls had an incredible start to the day, winning all four of their pool matches and advancing to the semi-finals.
Every player gave their best effort, but a few standouts led the team with exceptional skill and determination. Chloe S, Tayla G, and Tayla Mc were phenomenal in attack, consistently setting up and scoring tries, showcasing their teamwork and talent.
In the semi-finals, the girls faced Stella in a nail-biting match, emerging victorious with a 4-3 win. Despite the intense heat and the toll of the day’s games, they displayed immense heart and resilience in the final against Mount St Benedict. Although they narrowly lost 3-1, their performance was nothing short of inspiring.
Additionally, our boys’ team had a great day, showing tremendous effort and sportsmanship. Although it wasn’t their day in terms of results, their hard work and determination were evident throughout the competition.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Underwood for his invaluable assistance with coaching and training the teams during lunchtimes and inflame sessions. His dedication and support have been instrumental in the teams’ success.
To our student referees, thank you for your help on the field. We know you stepped out of your comfort zones, and we truly appreciate the time you took from your busy Year 12 schedules to assist with this event. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
The girls and boys should be extremely proud of how they represented themselves and the College.
